Effingham Junior HIgh School handed Centralia a 14-2 loss in baseball action Monday.

Centralia took a 1-0 first inning lead but the Mustangs came back with a three-run second, had a six-run fourth, a two-run fifth and a three-run sixth.

Effingham banged out 13 hits in the contest led by Waymoth with a single, double and two RBI, Raddatz and A. Donaldson with a double and two RBI each, Wolfe with three singles and two RBI and Fox and Verdeyen with two singles each. Fox added an RBI.

Effingham is now 2-1 on the season.

At Centralia

Effingham St. Anthony pounded out 16 hits and scored 16 runs in a 16-5 win over Shelbyville Moulton Monday.

Moulten took a 1-0 first inning lead and led 5-2 after three. The Bullpups came back with six in the fourth, three in the fifth and sixth and two in the seventh.

B. Jansen had four singles and two RBI while E. Levitt had two singles, a double and three RBI. C. Wines had a single, double and two RBI, W. Hoene two singles and two RBI and C. Walsh and M. Martelli with two singles and an RBI each.

South Central leaped out to a 13-0 opening inning lead and ended the game over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City with an 18-1 victory Monday.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City had three hits in the game led by Jacob Doty with a double. Gage Lorton had a single and an RBI.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis was on offensively with 14 hits and finished with a 16-4 win over Greenville in action Monday.

The Wooden Shoes had six extra base hits. C. Bloemer had a single, double, home run and two RBI. D. Niemerg had two doubles and five RBI, B. Goeckner two singles, a double and three RBI and C. Siemer a double and three RBI.

T. Schwerdt was the winning pitcher going five innings, allowing six hits, four runs, three walks and striking out six.

Teutopolis also claimed a junior varsity win over Newton St. Thomas, 15-9. T-town trailed 5-4 after three innings then had a seven-run fourth.

T-town had five hits, all singles by five different players.
