T-town Suffers Second Loss at State Tournament

WHEATON -- Teutopolis Post 924 fell to Highland Post 421 in the Junior American Legion State Baseball Tournament Saturday.
It was the second loss for T-town and the team exited the tournament.
T-town took a 1-0 first inning lead before HIghland tied in the second. T-town pushed ahead 4-1 in the third and led 5-3 into the final inning. But Highland rallied in the bottom of the seventh with three runs to pull out the 6-5 victory.
T-town outhit Highland 9-4. Luke Ungrund, Mitchell Hemmen and Matthew Deters had two hits each. Deters drove in two runs while Hemmen and Ungrund had an RBI each.
Highland ended up claiming the state championship with a 6-5 victory over Barrington.
