Effingham, Teutopolis Both Lose at State Junior Legion Tournament

It's tough to know whether losing in a blowout or losing a close one in extra innings is harder to swallow.

The Effingham and Teutopolis Junior American Legion baseball teams experienced each of those games Thursday afternoon in State Tournament play in Wheaton. As a result, they will play each other Friday afternoon.

Effingham lost 2-1 in 11 innings against host team Wheaton. Teutopolis, on the other hand, lost 10-0 to Charleston in the opening game of the tournament.

That means Effingham will play T-Town at 2:30pm Friday at Lee Pfund Stadium in Wheaton.

The loser of the Friday game will be eliminated from the tournament. The winner will advance to action at noon Saturday.
