Tomorrow's Stars Khoury League Tournament -- July 10

Dan Hecht, seeded sixth, upset No. 3 seed Rotary 9-6 in Tomorrow's Stars Khoury League Tournament action Tuesday evening at Mike Sehy Field.

Dan Hecht took a 3-0 first inning lead then pushed that to 6-0 in the third. Rotary tallied three in the fourth and tied the score at 6-6 with three in the sixth.

Dan Hecht then came through with three runs in the top of the seventh and held Rotary down in the bottom of the frame for the win.

Evan Klingler picked up the pitching win, going the final inning, allowing one walk but striking out three.

Henry Brent had a single and knocked out a home run to finish with three RBI. Wyatt Hayes had a single and triple while Cole Phillips added a double and two RBI.

Rotary was led by Carter Braddy with four singles and three RBI, Aiden Lauritzen with a double, triple and two RBI and Adam Borton with a double.

In the second contest, No. 2 Tingley Insurance downed No. 7 Russ Braunecker, 8-5.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first. Braunecker tallied three to take a 4-1 lead in the third and led 5-1 in the top of the fourth. Tingley came back with three in the bottom of the fourth then scored four in the fifth for the victory.

Brody Boehm picked up the pitching win and aided his own cause offensively with a solo home run. Other hitting stars included Drake Brown with a single, home run and three RBI and Maddux Clark with two doubles and two RBI.

Braunecker was led by Coen Pennington with a double, triple and two RBI, Nolan Fearday with two singles and a triple, Xander Beals with a single, double and an RBI and Leo Wcykoff with two singles and an RBI.

Dan  Hecht will now meet Tingley Insurance at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
