PHOENIX -- Yadier Molina drove in three runs as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-3 in action Monday at Chase Field.
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo and Molina met during the pregame to talk over the April contest where Lovlullo made some bad comments. The two are back on good terms.
The Cardinals banged out 10 hits and took a 4-1 first inning lead that they never relinquished. Molina had a two-run single in that first inning, and hit a home run in the sixth. He finished with three RBI. Jedd Gyoko also had a single and a home run, that one also coming in the sixth inning and had two RBI.
Yairo Munox finished with a single, double and an RBI and Matt Carpenter a double.
Carlos Martinez picked up the pitching win to improve to 5-4 on the season. He went six innings, allowing six hits, two runs, two walks and striking out seven. He also hit a double.
D-backs' Ray settled down after the four-run first and got 12 of the next 14 batters. But Molina and Gyorko chased Ray in the sixth with their back-to-back home runs.
