Effingham Post 120 Downs T-town Post 124

Effingham Post 120 claimed a 3-1 victory over Teutopolis Post 124 in American Junior Legion Baseball action Friday.

Effingham took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Teutopolis tied in the third. Effingham then produced two runs in the fifth.

Both teams had four hits. Effingham was led by Kendall Ballman with a double. Breyton Poland had a single and an RBI while Brett Koester had a single and an RBI. Nick Bishop had a single.

Trenton Schwerdt had a double for T-town while Tyler Runde, Mitch Hardiek and Lee Hardiek had a single each. L. Hardiek had an RBI.

Joe Kabbes was the winning pitcher going five innings, allowing four hits, one run and strking out six.

T-town Post 124 outscored Post 120 in two extra innings after the first full game, 4-0. Drew Thoele hit a two-run homer in that short exhibition.
