CHICAGO -- Despite several outstanding catches by Chicago's Javier Baez, the Cubs couldn't hold the Philadelphia Phillies down in a 6-1 loss Tuesday at Wrigley Field. That loss snapped a four-game winning streak.
Kyle Hendricks gave up five runs on five hits against the Phillies. He gave up a two-run homer to Nick Williams in the second. He walked two in the third and the Phillies loaded the bases and scored on a bases-loaded walk to Carlos Santana, a sacrifice fly and a fielder's choice.
Anthony Rizzo provided the lone run for the Cubs on a double in the eighth.
Baez came up with a catch as he fell over the wall along the third base line. He landed in the lap of a fan spilling some beer along the way. Baez also caught a popup in foul territory as the game got underway.
Marlins 7, Cardinals 4
ST. LOUIS -- Preston Guilmet came in with the score tied but ended up allowing three runs in relief of Carlos Martinez in the fifth and that proved to be the game-breaker as the Marlins handed the Cardinals a 7-4 loss.
Along with the relief pitching going south, the Cardinals had baserunning blunders, defensive errors and mental mistakes. Cardinals infielders made two errors along with other plays that went astray.
Tommy Pham got caught too far off third base as he would have been the tying run.
The Phillies added two more runs in the sixth on a JT Riddle home run and a sacrifice fly.

Scherzer struck out all three batters he faced in the sixth inning on nine pitches. Scherzer is thought to be just the fifth person in major league history with multiple immaculate innings
Lincecum's Comeback Suffers Setback
Tim Lincecum's comeback attempt suffered a setback Tuesday as the Texas Rangers unconditionally released him just as he was eligible for reinstatement from the 60-day DL. The Rangers signed Lincecum to a one-year, $1 million deal in March.
ESPN Bows to Pressure
