Brownstown/St. Elmo Wins Baseball Contest

BROWNSTOWN -- Brownstown/St. Elmo easily handled Ramsey to the tune of 13-7 in high school baseball action Wednesday.

BSE edged out to a 6-0 lead in the first two innings. Ramsey pulled back within 6-5 in the top of the fourth but BSE scored a single run in the bottom of the frame then tallied four in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Bryton Pruett had three singles, a double and an RBI for the winners while Lewis Brown added two singles, a triple and four RBI. Nate Philpot had a single, triple and three RBI while Hunter Strauch had a single and double and Caleb Atwood two singles and four RBI.

BSE improves to 6-10 on the season.

Olney came calling and picked up an 8-1 victory over South Central Wednesday.

Olney had 11 hits in the contest as Harmon hit a solo homer, Greenwood had a double and an RBI and Pampe two singles and an RBI.

The Cougars had six hits led by Ryan Matheny with two singles and an RBI.
