Cubs Out of Slump, Twins Blank Cardinals

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs haven't been hitting well. But Monday at Wrigley Field, the Cubs decided to turn that around, ending a five-game losing streak with a 14-2 win over the Miami Marlins.
Kris Bryant nailed a two-run homer to get the Cubs started in the right direction in the first inning. Ben Zobrist drew a walk and came home on Bryant's blast.
Javier Baez had a three-run shot in the third inning after Albert Almora Jr. and Zobrist singled. Ian Happ nailed two homers. His came in the fourth with a two-run homer and in the seventh with a three-run shot each coming from different sides of the plate.
Kyle Hendricks struck out three and scattered six hits over eight innings.
Twins 6, Cardinals 0
The Minnesota Twins broke a five-game winning streak by the St. Louis Cardinals with a 6-0 win Monday.
John Gant started in place of Adam Wainwright but gave up four runs on six hits before exiting the game. The Twins then got two more runs in the eighth.
Cardinals batters struck out 12 times in the game.
Dexter Fowler hit a deep drive in the first ining but Twins Eddie Rosario grabbed the ball over the wall.
White Sox' Farquhar Discharged From Hospital
Chicago White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar, who suffered a brain hemorrhage during a game last month, has been discharged from the hospital. While Farquhar is out for the season, his neurosurgeon says he expects him to be able to pitch sometime in the future.
Yankees, Red Sox to Play in London
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will play a pair of regular season games at London's Olympic Stadium next season. The games will take place next June 29-30 and will be the first-ever regular-season games in Europe.
