WINDSOR -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School trailed Shelbyville in the top of the second but came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning and never looked back in an 11-1 win in five innings via the 10-run rule Thursday.

The Hatchets broke loose with a six-run fourth and a three-run fifth.

WSS had eight hits in the contest led by Chase Thies with a single, double and an RBI and Gavin Bennett with a double and an RBI.

Isaac Kramer picked up the pitching win going all five innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out six.

At Windsor

Cumberland pounded  Marshall to the tune of 15-3 in action Thursday.

The Pirates had single runs in the second and third, then scored four in the fifth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Cumberland had 15 hits in the contest led by Alex Talley with a home run and three RBI while Bryan Cutts had three singles, a home run and two RBI.Brennyn Cutts had three singles, a double and two RBI.

Bry. Cutts picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing three hits, four walks and striking out 12.

North Clay (Louisville) handed Champaign Centennial an 8-1 loss Thursday.

The Cardinals broke a 1-1 first inning with a four-run fourth then added on three more in the seventh.

North Clay was led in hitting by Bloemer with two singles, a home run and four RBI.

Newton blanked Mount Carmel, 6-0 in action Thursday.

The Eagles scored single runs in the first and second innings then had a four-run fourth.

Newton was led by Wagy with a single and double and Farley with a single, double and an RBI.

Jansen was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing two hits and striking out two.

Casey-Westfield handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 6-0 loss.

The Warriors tallied two in the third, three in the fourth and one in the sixth. Casey-Westfield had seven hits led by Collins with three singles.

CHBC had only one hit, a single by Doty. It was the season opener for the Bobcats.

Teutopolis stepped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings against Normal University but eventually fell, 9-4 Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes held the four-point lead until the fourth when Normal tallied two then scored four in the fifth and three in the sixth.

T-town outhit Normal 7-6 led by Lee Hardiek with a single and double and Cody Jansen with a double and three RBI.

Dieterich had an eight-run fourth inning and went on to pound Odin, 14-2 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

The score was tied at 1-1 after two innings but the Maroons broke loose with a five-run third then had the big fourth inning.

Dieterich banged out 12 hits in the contest led by Bierman with two singles and a triple, Robards with a single, triple and three RBI, Poe with a single, triple and two RBI and Locey with a home run and two RBI. Vahling added two singles.
