LOUISVILLE -- North Clay (Louisville) tallied a 10-8 win over Effingham St. Anthony in baseball action Tuesday.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 first inning lead then had a six-run third and two more in the fourth for a 10-1 lead. The Bulldogs came back with five in the sixth and two in the seventh only to fall short.

Clifton had a single, home run and four RBI for the winnenrs while Repking had two singles and three RBI and Burkett a double and an RBI.

St. Anthony was led by Greg Utz with two doubles and two RBI, Blake Niebrugge with a home run and two RBI and Jacob Guy with a double and three RBI.

At Louisville

At Altamont

Atlamont High School trailed South Central 6-3 after five innings but rallied with three runs in the sixth to knot the score at 6-6 then scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for a 7-6 victory in baseball action Tuesday.

Biggs and Pemberton provided the one-two scoring punch for the Indians with a single, triple and three RBI each. Whitt added a double and Reardon had an RBI.

Brandt led the Cougars with two singles, a double and an RBI while Geiler added a single and double.

Vaughn picked up the pitching win. He threw the final three innings, allowing four hits, two runs and two strikeouts.

The Hatchets of Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg broke a 3-3 tie and went on to beat Neoga 11-6 in National Trail Conference action Tuesday.

WSS scored a run in the second, two in the fourth and five in the fifth. Beau Bennett had a big game with two singles, a double, home run and three RBI. Isaac Kramer added two singles and an RBI and Dalton Armes a double.

Neoga also had big hitters as Drew Ramert knocked out a home run and drove in three, Evan Fritcher had a single and double, Caleb Hill a single, double and an RBI and Jimmy Wood a single, double and an RBI.

Brownstown/St. Elmo improved its record to 2-0 in the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament with a victory over Mulberry Grove at Vandalia High School Tuesday.

BSE tallied a run in the first then added on six in the second and never looked back in a 12-2 win in six innings.

Dalton Denton threw a five-hitter with two walks and three strikeouts.

Caleb Atwood had two singles, a double and an RBI while Bryton Pruett had a single, two doubles and two RBI. Rocky Himes added a double and an RBI and Isaac Maxey a double

BSE leads with a 2-0 record followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 1-1, Ramsey 1-1 and Mulberry Grove 0-2. The tourney ends Thursday with CHBC against Mulberry Grove at 4:15 p.m. followed by BSE against Ramsey at 7.
