NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony High School handed Neoga a 14-3 loss in five innings of National Trail Conference baseball competition Thursday.

The two squads were tied at 1-1 after the first inning. St. Anthony then had a six-run second in large part due to a double by Austin Kline and and a grand slam by Joseph Kabbes and never looked back.

Kabbes finished with two singles, a home run and five RBI. Kline had two singles, a double and an RBI. Blake Niebrugge had a single, home run and drove in three. Bryson Wall and Jacob Guy had a double and two RBI each.

Hill had a solo homer for Neoga while Wood had two singles.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis held off a final inning challenge by Dieterich to take a 9-6 victory Thursday.

T-town held an 9-0 lead going into the top of the seventh. The Movin' Maroons got on a roll, scoring six runs.

Dust had two singles, a triple and an RBI to lead the Shoes while Thoele had a single, double and two RBI, Jansen a solo home run and Ungrund a double.

Thoele led Dieterich with a home run and three RBI while Campton added a single and double and McClain two singles and two RBI.

South Central pounded out 13 hits in a 15-2 win over Odin in five innings via the 10-run rule Thursday.

The Cougars had four players with multiple hits. Geiler had a single, double and four RBI while Brandt had a single, double and two RBI. Matheny added two singles and two RBI and Roberts a single and double.

Grzegorek threw the five innings, allowing two runs on two hits, four walks and striking out five.

Altamont didn't let any grass grow under their collective feet Thursday, stepping out to a 7-0 first inning lead and downing Mulberry Grove 13-1 in five innings.

White banged out two triples and brought home four runs while Vaughn had a single, two doubles and three RBI. Reardon and Teasley had a double each with Teasley garnering an RBI.

Vaughn picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts.

Cisne came calling and picked up a 12-8 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo in Thursday action.

Cisne had 10 hits and were outhit by BSE 10-8 but still came through for the win.

The Lions led 5-2 after two innings then had a four-run fifth and a three-run sixth.

Miller had a triple, Callahan a double and Hosselton a single and double for the winners.

BSE was led by Wade Ireland with a single, double and an RBI, Rocky Himes with two singles and an RBI and Lewis Brown with two singles and an RBI. BSE drops to 5-4.

At Brownstown

Ramsey had a four-run sixth inning to claim a 6-3 victory over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thursday.

The score was tied at 2-2 in the top of the sixth before Ramsey brought home the four runs.

CHBC had only two singles by Doty and Clearwater.
