KINMUNDY -- Altamont High School came calling and edged South Central 5-4 in baseball action Friday.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the third inning and held that until the sixth. Altamont broke loose for five runs then held off South Central in the bottom of the seventh. The Cougars tallied three runs.
Hammer led the way for the Indians with a single, double and an RBI. Whitt added a double.
South Central had seven hits led by Matheny with a single, double and an RBI, McCown with a double and two RBI, Dodson with a double and an RBI and Lotz with a double.

At Brownstown
Neoga took a 2-0 first inning lead. Brownstown/St. Elmo tied in the fourth then took a 3-2 lead in the fifth. Neoga moved ahead again with three runs in the top of the sixth but BSE came back with four runs and held on for the 7-6 victory.
Nate Philpot picked up the pitching win on a six-hitter with seven walks and seven strikeouts.
Philpot also had two singles and two RBI. Dalton Denton added a double and an RBI and Lewis Brown a single and two RBI. BSE is now 2-2 in the National Trail Conference, 4-3 overall.
Neoga was led by Hill with a double, triple and two RBI and Andrews with a single, double and three RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg ended this game in the fifth inning by an 11-0 count over Ramsey.
Christian Kessler had a single, triple and drove in two runs for the Hachets while Isaac Kramer had a double.
Owen Bridges threw a three-hitter with one walk and struck out 10.

North Clay (Louisville) ended this contest in the fifth via the 10-run rule, 11-1 over Dieterich Friday.
The Cardinals stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead, tacked on one in the second and six in the fourth.
Aldrich, had a single, double and three RBI for the winners while VanDyke, Fleener and Repking had two singles each. Fleener drove in two runs. Blank had a double and two RBI.
Thoele and Schmidt had a single each for Dieterich. Thoele drove in a run.
Bloemer was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing two hits, one run, one walk and striking out seven.
