Mount Zion came to town and claimed a 6-1 victory over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high school baseball action Monday.

Mount Zion took a 1-0 first inning lead and led 2-1 after three innings. Mount Zion then tacked on single runs in the fourth and seventh and two in the sixth.

Both teams had seven hits. Leading the Bullpups were Niebrugge with two singles and Hoene, Levitt and Jansen with a double each.

At St. Anthony

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City held a 5-0 lead before Dieterich got untracked. But CHBC held the momentum for a 13-5 victory Monday.

CHBC had six hits in the contest led by Hammond with two doubles and Burrus with two singles. Buzzard threw a two-hitter with seven walks and 11 strikeouts.

Dieterich's two hits were singles by Ruholl.

 At Teutopolis

Teutopolis played host to Casey-Westfield in A game action and blanked the visitors 9-0.

The Wooden Shoes tallied seven runs in the second inning. T-town had six hits led by Bushur with a triple and an RBI, M. Althoff with two singles and two RBI and Buehnerkemper with a double and three RBI.

Bushur was the winning pitcher on a one-hitter with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

In a game at Stewardson, the host Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor squad edged T-town 5-4. SSW scored all five runs in the first inning. T-town scored its lone run in the seventh.

Chaney and Dandurand had a double each for the winners. Dandurand added an RBI.

T-town was led by Kemme with two singles, Beckman with two singles and Probst with three RBI.

North Clay (Louisville) broke loose for a 15-4 win over Altamont and now stands at 6-3 on the season.

North Clay had a nine-run sixth inning after leading 6-4 to end the game.

Clifton had two home runs and three RBI for the winners while Weidner had a double, home run and two RBI. Zimmerman added a single, double and two RBI, Koelm three singles and two RBI and Burkett two singles.

Altamont was led by Kollman with a home run and two RBI.

Neoga played host to Brownstown/St. Elmo and captured a 5-4 victory.

Bryar Hennesay was the winning pitcher. Mitch Moran had three hits for the winners while Nick Titus and Zac Campbell had two hits each. Neoga is now 6-4 on the season.
