Junior High Baseball Results -- August 26

Sullivan tallied a 10-2 victory over Effingham in junior high baseball competition Saturday.

Sullivan stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and had nine hits in the contest. Dalbey had a triple while Drigenberg and Boyle had two singles each. Boyle added an RBI.

Effingham was led by Budde with a double.

In the second contest, Jasper County claimed a 9-4 win over Effingham. Jasper County scored in the first three innings and that's all it took.

Jasper County was led by Schaefer with three singles and an RBI, Mulvey with two singles and two RBI and Mahaffey with two singles.

Effingham was led by Matteson with three singles and two RBI and Eaton with two singles and an RBI. The Mustangs are now 2-7 on the season.

At Highland

Teutopolis competed in the Highland Tournament Saturday and claimed the A Tournament.

T-town blanked Westchester St. Joseph 3-0, scoring all three runs in the sixth inning. The Shoes had three hits led by Bushur with a double.

K. Althoff was the winning pitcher, going six innings, allowing one hit, two walks and striking out three.

T-town then blanked Mattoon 6-0. T-town had 11 hits in the contest led by Schmidt with two singles and two RBI, Bannick with two singles, K. Althoff with two singles, Bushur with a double and Pruemer with a double.

Bannick picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter with four walks and one strikeout in five innings.

In B action, Teutopolis blanked St. Joseph 7-0 in six innings.

T-town had 11 hits led by Siemer and Niemerg with a single, double and an RBI each. Schwerdt had two singles and two RBI and Lustig two singles. Siemer added a double.

In the second game, the Shoes handed Mattoon a 9-5 loss. Mattoon led 4-3 after the first winning but T-town tallied two in the second and four in the fourth.

Kemme hit a home run and had two RBI for the Shoes while Burrell had two singles and two RBI.

At Ramsey

Neoga claimed a 14-3 victory over Ramsey in five innings Saturday.

Neoga took a 5-0 first inning lead and finished with 16 hits in the game. Mitch Moran had a single, double and triple. Phil Harris, Gage Stevens and Quintin Richards had three singles each.

Neoga then downed Vandalia 5-2. Neoga scored all five runs in the second inning.

Luke Romack had three singles while Malachi Staszak added two singles.
