Jasper Co. 1-1 After First Day at Ohio Valley Region, Junior Legion State Tourney Postponed

MUNSTER, Ind. -- Jasper County went 1-1 in opening round play at the Ohio Valley Region 13-Year-Old State Tournament Thursday.

Jasper County opened with a 15-4 loss to Germantown. Jasper County then came back to pick up an 11-1 win over Eau Claire.

In other games, Jasper defeated Guernsey Valley 10-3, Evergreen Park downed Russell County 8-4, Hammond won over Huntington SE 4-1, Kokomo defeated Macomb Clinton 11-1, Germantown downed Crown Point 6-2, Huntington SE edged Guernsey Valley 9-8 and Evergreen Park defeated Kokomo 10-1.

Jasper County is back in action today with a 2 p.m. game against Crown Point. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the single elimination bracket beginning Saturday morning.

 

At Salem

The Junior Legion State Tournament was rained out Thursday and will open play today.

In action at Kinmundy, Breese will face Moline at 11 a.m. followed by Teutopolis against Mattoon at 2. At Salem, Salem will meet Wheaton at 11 a.m. followed by Danville against Highland at 2.

The rest of action that was scheduled today has been pushed back with times yet to be determined.
