Laren K. (Skeeter) Prosser, age 88, peacefully passed at home on January 15, 2025, in rural Noble, Illinois.

Funeral Services for Laren will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM with a visitation for friends and family starting at 10:00 AM until service time, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois.  Military Honors will be held at the funeral home after the service.  A Private burial will be at the North Freedom Cemetery in Noble.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left by clicking here.

Laren was born on October 31, 1936, in Sailor Springs, Illinois, the son of Martin and Margurite (Thomann) Prosser.  Laren proudly served his country in the United State Army during the Korean War from January 6, 1960 until March 15, 1962.  He was a member of the American Legion.  Laren married Patricia Davis, and she preceded him in death on July 31, 2023.

Laren along with his wife Patricia hosted the Prosser Family Chowder each year and would have Blue Grass bands at their home.  Laren loved Bluegrass music and attended many bluegrass festivals and concerts.  He loved to have musicians come by and for “Picking Sessions” and you could always count on music coming from his shed. Laren loved working in his yard and took pride in making his home look nice.  He enjoyed pitching washers and doing crossword puzzles.

Laren is survived by his children: Darla Ewald of Noble, Illinois, Anita Jo and James Daniels of Texas, David and Bonnie Wright of Marshall, Illinois, Connie and Terry Cox of Oklahoma and Monti Prosser

Siblings; Fred Prosser of Noble, Illinois, Delton (Rod) Prosser of Olney, Illinois, Linda and Richard Skelton of Olney, Illinois, Cheryl Schuetz of Olney, Illinois, and sisters-in-law Pat Prosser and Velma Prosser.

Eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many friends – Laren will be missed!

Laren is preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents Martin and Margurite Prosser, and daughter Lori Prosser-Martinez, brothers Ronald Prosser, Bill Prosser and sister Janet Padget
