LOUISVILLE -- North Clay Junior High School claimed the championship of its own Pow Wow Baseball Invitational Saturday.

North Clay defeated Beecher City 13-3 in five innings. North Clay stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Aldrich had three singles, a double and drove in four runs. Lovett had two singles and three RBI.

Beecher City was led by Cody Grove with a single and double.

In the second game Patoka downed Edwards County (Albion) 11-5.

The third place contest went to Patoka who edged Beecher City 15-14. Beecher City held a 12-7 lead after three innings and 14-11 lead after five. Patoka then tallied four runs in the sixth.

Beecher City was led by Cole Bushue with two singles and a double and Hunter Seaton with two singles, a home run and four RBI. Nick Miller added a single, double and two RBI.

In the championship game, North Clay defeated Edwards County 11-1

In action Saturday, Altamont blanked Neoga 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Altamont had eight hits in the game.

In a contest Friday, Altamont downed Sigel St. Michael 5-1 behind eight hits.

Altamont stands at 12-2 on the season.
