LOUISVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony traveled to North Clay (Louisville) and blanked the Cardinals 2-0 in high school baseball action Monday.

The two runs for the Bulldogs came in the fourth on a two-run shot by Zach Gardewine. Ben Hecht picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter.

St. Anthony is back in action at Neoga Thursday in non-conference play.

At Louisville

At Dieterich

Dieterich came from two down to take a 5-2 lead after three innings and finished off with an 8-2 victory over Noble/Clay City in high school baseball action Monday.

Noble/Clay City edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and led 2-0 in the top of the second. But Dieterich came on to score two runs in the bottom of the second, three in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth behind 10 hits.

Alex Bohnhoff threw all seven innings, allowing nine hits, one walk and striking out one. Chris Lidy went four for four at the plate with three singles, a double and two RBI. Bohnhoff aided his own cause with three singles and two RBI.

At Sandoval

Sandoval blanked Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Sandoval tallied one in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and finished the game out with four in the fifth behind 10 hits. BCCH had no hits.

Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick is back in action Thursday at Windsor.

South Central picked up a 7-4 victory over Altamont. The Cougars tallied two in the second and five in the third.

Shawn Meyer pitched a four-hitter with three walks and seven strikeouts. Noah Powless hit a home run and drove in two runs for the winners. Dylan Smith had a double and two RBI. Altamont was led by Scholes with a home run and three RBI.

At South Central

Teutopolis bounced Webber Township (Bluford) 14-2 in the varsity game. Kyle Pruemer picked up the pitching victory.

In the junior varsity contest, Teutopolis was a 14-0 winner. John Ungrund was the winning pitcher.

T-town is back in action Thursday at Kaskaskia College against Woodlawn.

At Ramsey

Brownstown picked up a 5-1 victory over Ramsey in the Ramsey Tournament Monday.

The Bombers opened up to a 2-0 lead after three innings. Ramsey scored its lone run in the fourth. Brownstown then had a single run in the fifth and two in the sixth.
