ST. ELMO -- Neoga came calling and handed St. Elmo a 6-5 loss in Saturday junior high school baseball action.
Neoga edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and held that until the fourth when St. Elmo brought home five runs. But Neoga battled back with five runs in the top of the seventh to claim the victory.
St. Elmo is back in action today hosting Windsor.

At Newton
Jasper County picked up a 4-1 victory over Effingham in A competition Friday and also won in B action 7-6.
In the A contest, Jasper County took a 1-0 lead and Effingham tied in the fourth. Jasper County then tallied three runs to win in the fifth.
In the B game, Effingham edged out to a 3-2 first inning lead and pushed that to 5-2 in the third. But Jasper County came back with a two-run fourth and a three-run fifth.

Stewardson-Strasburg blanked Effingham Sacred Heart 15-0 Friday. Stew-Stras stepped out to an 11-0 opening inning lead and ended the game in the fourth.
Derrick Moschenrose pitched the no-hitter with one walk and five strikeouts. Moschenrose also hit for the cycle with a single, double, triple, home run and drove in three RBI.

Neoga defeated Sigel St. Michael 8-3 in Saturday afternoon play at Sigel Park. Neoga had eight runs on six hits and 10 walks. Sigel had three runs on three hits and four walks.
Evan Althoff had two hits and Jordan Schumacher a hit for Sigel. Sigel is 2-1 and will play at Beecher City Monday.
