Dairy Queen handed Kingery Printing a 12-2 loss in the opening game of the 11-12 Year-Old League Tournament Tuesday evening. The tourney was supposed to open Monday but was pushed back to a Tuesday opening because of rain.
The score was knotted at 1-1 after three innings. Dairy Queen then taliled two in the fourth, then had a five-run fifth and a four-run sixth.
Austin Faber and Ryan Schultz had two doubles and two RBI each for the winners. Kalen Reardon led Kingery with a single and double.
Dairy Queen advances to face top-seeded Kemper CPA at 5:30 p.m. today followed by NAPA taking on Arrow Pest Control at 7:30.
In the second contest, Northside Ford claimed a 9-5 win over Arab Pest Control. Northside took a 4-1 first inning lead and never lost that lead.
Davis Tingley pitched a two-hitter for the win. Tingley also had two singles.
Northside Ford is back in action Thursday, taking on second-seeded Schumacher Orthodontics at 5:30 p.m. The 7:30 p.m. contest features Rhodes Chiropractic against DEKALB.
