NEOGA -- Effingham St. Anthony didn't waste any time in this game getting on the board. The Bulldogs took a 5-0 lead over Neoga then added on four more in the second behind a home run barrage and ended the baseball game with an 18-9 win.
Neil Williams opened the first by drawing a walk. Jacob Lorenz, Austin Bushur and Eli Dasenbrock all followed wiith singles. With the bases still loaded, Braden Puckett knocked out a grand slam.
In the second inning, Busher led off the frame with a home run. Dasenbrock and Puckett singled and Alex Hoelscher cleared the bases with a home run and the Bulldogs led 9-2.
The Bulldogs ended with 20 hits in the contest. Bushur had a single, double, home run and three RBI while Lorenz had a single, two doubles and an RBI, Dasenbrock had four singles and an RBI, Hoelscher a home run and three RBI and Puckett a single, double, home run and six RBI.
Neoga was led by Rankin with a grand slam home run. He finished with five RBI.

Teutopolis ended its game early with a 13-3 win over Paris Wednesday.
The Wooden Shoes held a 5-3 lead after three innings then tacked on four runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The Wooden Shoes had 12 hits led by Bobby Wenthe with a single, home run and five RBI. Goldstein added a single, double and three RBI while Will had a single and double and Hardiek and Niemerg a double each. Niemerg added two RBI.
Ungrund picked up the pitching win on an eight-hitter with one walk and two strikeouts.

Noah Powless was on fire from the batter's box Wednesday but it wasn't enough as Salem downed South Central 21-17.
Powless hit two grand slams and finished with eight RBI. Kyle Bray had four hits and Dylan Smith hit a home run. The Cougars drop to 8-14 on the season.

Cumberland edged Robinson 7-6. The Pirates trailed 4-1 after three innings then took the lead with four runs in the top of the fourth. But Robinson tied in the bottom of the inning then took a 6-5 lead in the fifth. The Pirates then came back with two runs in the top of the sixth to pull out the victory.
Cutts picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with six walks and 13 strikeouts. Cutts aided his own cause with two singles and two RBI. Swingler had three singles and two RBI.
