Effingham Ousted From Senior Division Tournament

Effingham Post 120 fell from contention for the championship of the Senior Legion Division Baseball Tournament at Pinckneyville Friday.
The score was tied at 1-1 after the first inning until the sixth. Alton took a 2-1 lead. But Effingham came back to tie the score at 2-2 in the top of the seventh. Alton then scored the winning run for a 3-2 victory in the eighth.
Blake Novack picked up the pitching win on a six-hitter. Leading Effingham was Nick Gardewine witih two singles and an RBI. Cole Braunecker suffered the loss on a seven-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts. The loss drops Effingham out of the Senior Division Tournament. Alton advances to the championship game against Fairview Heights.
