ALTAMONT -- St. Anthony stepped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and never looked back in an 8-4 win over Altamont in baseball competition Monday.

The Bulldogs batted around in the opening inning. With one out, Jacob Lorenz started the run with a single. Austin Bushur followed with a double and Eli Dasenbrock nailed a single to score both runners. The next two batters drew walks and Bryan Jansen had a single. An error scored a run and Greene followed with an RBI single. Williams, who was the first out of the frame, came back with a single and drove in a run.

That lead went to 8-0 in the third when the Bulldogs brought home two more runs.

Altamont didn't score until the fourth on three walks and two errors. The Indians tallied a single run in the sixth.

The Bulldogs had 12 hits led by Lorenz with three singles and an RBI, Bushur with a single and double, Dasenbrock with two singles and three RBI and Jansen with two singles.

At Centralia

Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran claimed a 7-4 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo Monday evening.

BSE outhit Christ Our Rock 8-5 but still came up short. CORL had a five-run fourth to take the lead away from BSE who had tallied two in the top of the frame.

Dalton Parks had two singles for BSE while Jacob Behrends had a double. The Bombers drop to 9-7 on the season.

At Teutopolis

The Charleston Trojans came calling and the Wooden Shoes sent them home with a 7-2 loss Monday.

Charleston held a 2-0 lead until the bottom of the fourth when the Shoes tallied four runs to take the lead. T-town had six hits, four of those hits doubles. Wenthe had a single and double while Probst had a single, double and three RBI. Hardiek had a double and an RBI and Flach a double and two RBI.

Ungrund picked up the pitching win to improve to 3-0 on the season. He went 6.2 innings, allowing seven hits, two runs, three walks and struck out seven.

T-town is now 12-2 while Charleston drops to 4-12. T-town is back in action today against Effingham St. Anthony at Evergreen Hollow Park.
