Windsor/Stew-Stras Nabs Opening Baseball Win

WINDSOR -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and didn't let up, scoring three in the second for a 7-0 lead and went on to down Shelbyville 9-2 in its season opening boys baseball game Thursday at Maxwell Field.
Windsor/Stew-Stras banged out six hits in the game and Christian Vonderheide picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing three hits, two walks and striking out eight. Derek Moschenrose came on in relief, allowing four hits, two runs, one walk and striking out four.
Dylan Ohnesorge nailed a home run and finished with three RBI for the winners. The other six hits were singles spread over five different players.

Casey-Westfield played host to Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick and handed the visitors a 6-2 loss Thursday.
BCCH scored a run in the top of the first but the Warriors tied in the bottom of the frame then took a 3-1 lead after three and tacked on three more runs.
Blankenship pitched a no-hitter allowing eight walks and striking out 14. BCCH drops to 0-1.
