Cubs Crushed By Rockies

(Mesa, AZ) -- Jeff Samardjiza was shelled for three runs in three innings but didn't take the loss in the Cubs' 7-5 setback to the Rockies. Chris Rusin allowed three more runs in under three innings of relief work for the loss. Javier Baez and George Kottaras both went deep in defeat. The Cubs take on the Indians today.

Cardinals Clip Red Sox

(Jupiter, FL) -- Xavier Scruggs hit a two-run homer and the Cardinals went on to beat the Red Sox 8-6 in Jupiter Wednesday. Matt Adams also knocked in two runs for the Cards. Starter Shelby Miller picked up the win for St. Louis, which improved to 2-3 in the spring. The Cardinals take on the Twins in Fort Myers today.

Sale, Sox Rocked By Padres

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Chris Sale allowed six runs in under three innings as the Padres rolled the White Sox 8-0 in spring play Wednesday. The Sox were limited to only five hits in the loss. Dylan Axelrod pitched nicely in relief, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three in as many innings. The Sox play the Mariners and Royals today.
