Ambrose J. Deters, 70 of Teutopolis, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
 
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the church with a 7:00 p.m. parish wake service. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
 
Ambrose was born December 28, 1943 in Effingham, the son of Albert and Margaret (Willenborg) Deters. He married Judy M. Huber on April 11, 1964 and she survives. Ambrose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lillyville, St. Joseph Men’s Sodality and was a lifelong dairy farmer.
 
Ambrose is survived by his wife, Judy of Teutopolis; two sons, Joe (Carleen) and Tony (Cindy), both of Lillyville; three daughters, Kathy (Dave) Worman of Dieterich, Suzett (Steve) Doty of Neoga and Amber (Glen) Flood of Dieterich; brother, Harry (Mary Ann) of Sigel; twelve grandchildren, Bethany, Rachel, Joleen and Will Deters, Matthew and Sarah Deters, Angela and Aaron Worman, Michelle and Joshua Doty, Amanda and Chris Flood.
 
Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents and son, Francis.
