Forrest “Eddie” Adamson, 81, of Brazil, IN passed away at 6:30 AM on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his residence.
 
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday January 24th 2014 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Burial with Full Military Rites will be in the Friends Grove Cemetery rural Toledo, IL.
 
Forrest was born on February 11, 1932 in Greenup, IL, to Charles Roy & Lola Lillian (Shepard) Adamson. He married Avis Moses on June 14, 1953.
 
Surviving is his loving wife; Children Stephen (Christine) Adamson of Frankfort, IN, Stanley (Diana) Adamson of Brazil, IN, Lisa (Frank) Robbins of Lexington, KY and Joy (David) Warner of Brazil, IN; Sisters Charlotte Burrows of Maryville, CA, Della Marie Walters of Phoenix, AZ, Arlene Washburn of Greenup, IL and Aileen Cordes of Mattoon, IL; Grandchildren Stephanie (Matthew) Thomas of Carlsbad, NM, Rebecca Adamson of Frankfort, IN, Kendra Adamson of Cincinnati, OH, John (Tonya) Adamson, Jerry Adamson (Stephanie Vanatti) all of Brazil, IN, Jaime Robbins and Jenifer Robbins of Lexington, KY and Heather Warner of Brazil, IN; Great-Grandchildren Alastair Thomas and Justina Yocom. Also many nieces and nephews.
 
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Bill, Henry, Lee and Dee Adamson.
 
Forrest proudly served his country in the US Army and retired after 20 years.  He was awarded many honors including 4 bronze stars and the prestigious Army Commendation.  In the service he held many jobs; he was an infantry platoon leader, in the Military Police, a drill instructor, counselor and an Army Recruiter in Decatur and Olney. He served in North Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Brazil, IN .V.F.W., A.F.L.C.I.O., the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Decatur and the Central Indiana Anglers.
