Irma L. Garrison, 94 of St. Elmo, passed away at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday, January 01, 2014 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, IL. with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service following. Memorials may be made to Friendship Manor Nursing Home.

Irma was born on November 29, 1919 in Mulberry Grove, IL., the daughter of James A. and Addie R. (Elam) Blankenship. She Married Hallie E. Garrison on May 26, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1994. She was a homemaker, who loved being with her family and friends. Irma worked at Crane packing for 17 years. She loved to cook and was well known for her cooking.

She is survived by her three sons, Russell Garrison (wife Lorinda) of Tamms, IL., Gene Garrison of St. Elmo, IL. and Allen Garrison of Pleasant View, TN; three daughters, Norma Tharp of Effingham, IL., Pat McDowell of St. Elmo, IL., Carolyn Stogsdill (husband Todd) of Troy, MO.; 7 grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lawrence Garrison; brothers, Richard Blankenship, Raymond Blankenship; sisters, Goldie Hatfill, Ellsie Laswell and Arlene Hott; sons -n- laws, Clyde Tharp and Dale McDowell; one grandson, Mark Hillhouse, and one great grandchild, Grace Horsman.
