Lois Carol Knierim, 72, of Effingham died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23 at 10 a.m. at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville with Bro. Kevin Colclasure and Bro. Ron Payne officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery, rural Louisville. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Christian Church, Effingham. Lois was born January 28, 1941, the daughter of Wendell Harris and Helen Josephine (Devore) Keck. She married Lloyd Ed Knierim March 17, 2005 in Effingham County. She was a secretary for USDA office in Louisville. She was a member of Ingraham Christian Church and also attended Cornerstone Christian Church, Effingham.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Dr. Harry (wife Kim) Carter of Fairfield and Leonard (wife Kim) Garter of Louisville; daughter, Rhonda Newby (fiancee Pete Hoke) of Robinson; step-sons, William Knierim and wife Connie of Terre Haute, IN and Herbert Knierim and wife Stephany of Monument, CO; step-daughter, Carrie Otto and husband Jonathan of Effingham; grandchildren, Daniel Newby, Audra Clodfelter, Katie Carter, Leah Carter, Marissa Carter and McKenna Carter; step-grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Knierim, Sean Knierim and Lillith Einhorn; brothers, Ronald Keck of Flora and Dwayne (wife Cindy) Keck of Huntingburg, Ind.; and sisters, Sandy (husband Gleason) Dial of Jerseyville and Kathy (husband Richard) Turner of Clay City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
