Marietta Gregor Carcione, 86, of Effingham and formerly of Newton died at 3:40am Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 20, at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass.  Burial will be in the New St. Peter Cemetery in Newton.  Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am Friday.  Memorials to Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. 

Marietta was born on October 16, 1927 in Newton, IL the daughter of Leo and Ella Marie (Kinsel) Gregor.  Marietta worked for many years in Las Vegas, Nevada as a show room waitress and later as a security guard.  She was strong in her Catholic faith.  

Marietta is survived by- Sister - Marguerite Gregor of Chicago, IL...Niece - Kimberly (Jesse) Johns, Sr. of Clinton, IL...Great Nieces - Kelli Schott and Kristal Fetzer...Great Nephew - Jesse Johns, Jr....Great-great Niece – Grace Schott...Great-great Nephews - Jesse Johns, III and Connor Fetzer...Cousins - Agnes (Dean) Bond and Richard Hippler.

Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Maxine Smith, Brother-in-law Charles Eugene Smith, husband Anthony Babuscio and husband Vincent Carcione and a cousin Larry Hippler.
