Frank H. Kortte, Jr., 95, of Effingham, Illinois died at 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham with 5:30 p.m. parish wake service and 6:30 p.m. K of C Rosary with 4th Degree services. He was born August 15, 1916 in Dieterich, the son of Frank and Catherine (Schneiderjan) Kortte. Frank married Christina C. Haarmann November 11, 1941. He first worked at the Illinois Glove Company then Illinois Drivers License Facility and then in the custodial department at the Effingham County Courthouse. He also was an Electrolux dealer. Frank was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Effingham and a life member of Effingham K of C Council #665, 4th Degree.

He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Christine of Effingham; son, Thomas (wife Barb) of Leesburg, Fla., daughters, Connie (husband John) Ramsey of Belleville, Mich., Linda (husband Ed) Beyers of Neoga, Marsha (husband Duane) Reynolds of Watson; grandchildren, Kathy (husband Rhett) Kilmer, Todd Kortte, Angela (husband Mike) Shock, Bryan Kortte, Wendy (husband Aziz) Panjwani, Brent (wife Dee) Beyers, Justin (wife Sara) Beyers, Brooke (husband Josh) Rennels, Charlene (husband Brian) Langley, John Paul Ramsey and Amber (husband Jason) Fielitz; 18 great-grandhchildren and sisters, Elizabeth Runde and Kathryn Wesselman, both of Teutopolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James; grandson, Mickey Reynolds; brothers, John, Henry and Joe; sisters, Rosa Dust, Helen Haarmann, Veronica Hartl, Anna Wesselman and Agnes Kortte.
