Samuel Dean O'Dell, 72, of Ingraham, Illinois died Monday, December 2, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Wendelin with Father Mark Stec and Keith Kepley officiating.. Visitation will be Friday, December 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville. There will be military rites at the cemetery. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery, Ingraham. Dean was born February 12, 1941 in Cripple Creek, Colorado, the son of Harold and Winnie James O'Dell. He married Rose Workman August 25, 1991 at Anaheim, California. He was an engineer for Hughes Aircraft of California. He was a member of Wendelin Catholic Church, and the American Legion of Sailor Springs.

Survivors include his wife; sons, James O'Dell, Matt O'Dell and Mark O'Dell all of California and Luke O'Dell of Indiana; daughter, Charlotte Kirkpatrick of Massachusetts; brothers, Chuck O'Dell of New Mexico and James O'Dell of Colorado; sisters, Anna Barnett of New Mexico, Darlene Carroutte of Oklahoma and Laure Gearhart of Colorado; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter O'Dell and sisters, Regina O'Dell in infancy and Thelma O'Dell.
