Henrietta Deimel, age 102 of rural Ingraham, IL passed away at 11:00 PM – Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Lake Land Rehabilitation & Health Care in Effingham, IL.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin with Father Mark Stec. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the church and 1 hour prior to the mass. Burial to follow the mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, IL. Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Henrietta was born on August 17, 1911 in Ste. Marie, Illinois the daughter of Peter and Ida (Zuber) Ochs. She was one of 10 children. She married Henry Deimel on August 17,1937. He was killed in a car accident February 1, 1953 and preceded her in death. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Wendelin, the Ladies Parish Organization, along with Jasper County Farm Bureau. Henrietta loved her family; her greatest joy was being a homemaker, wife and mother. Henrietta enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. Quilting was a lifelong activity and she shared this love with many by making over 100 quilts that are cherished, finishing her final one in the spring of 2013.
Henrietta is survived by- 3 sons- Harold (Jeannie) Deimel of Newton, IL; Howard Deimel of Xenia, IL and Herb (Martha) Deimel of Ingraham, IL...1 Daughter- Hermena (Sam) Medernach of Dieterich, IL...Daughter-in-law Joyce Deimel of Lebanon, TN...8 grandchildren- Becky (John) Kocher; Jeff (Denise Roecker) Medernach; Jeff (Laura) Deimel; Steven (Jennifer) Deimel; Kellie (Dave) Gauger; Amy Deimel, Renee (Gary) Klingler; Jared Deimel...9 great-grandchildren...2 great-great grandchildren...1 sister- Eunice Schackmann of Newton, IL...and 1 brother- Lorraine “Johnny” (Romonna) Ochs of Ste Marie, IL.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, son Herman Deimel, daughter Helen Crouse, 3 sisters, Rosa Rubsam, Charlene Miller, Bernadine Kuenstler, and 4 brothers, Herman Ochs, Gilbert Ochs, Lester Ochs, and Philip Ochs.
