Berniece Pagel, 96, of Dieterich, entered eternal rest at 1:15 AM Monday, September 16, 2013, at Aspen Creek of Effingham.

Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, rural Bible Grove, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Visitation is from 9AM to 11:30AM at the church. Memorials are requested to Clay County Hospice or Donor’s Choice. Pagel Funeral Homes, Edgewood, is in charge of arrangements.

Berniece was born on June 8, 1917, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of William John and Ida Bertha (Miller) Kuhring. She married Albert W. Pagel on February 16, 1935, in Effingham, IL. He preceded her on Tuesday, March 22, 1988.  She was a housewife and a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, rural Bible Grove, for over 70 years.

Surviving are her son, Roger Pagel of Newton; daughters, Eunice (husband, Dannie) Cox of Newton and Sharon (husband, Gary) Titus of Greenup; daughter-in-law, Sharon Pagel of Ingraham; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Berniece was preceded by her parents; son, Donnie Pagel; daughter, Brenda Pagel; brother, Loren Kuhring; and sister, Cerise Kuhring.
