Gene Huber, age 71 of Willow Hill, IL passed away at 11:13 PM – Monday, September 9, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Brooks Cemetery in rural Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

Gene was born September 6, 1942 in Casey, IL the son of Bernard “Ben” and Marjorie Evelyn (Warren) Huber. He married Nancy Highgate on August 12, 1993. Gene worked for the Jasper County School District for over 30 years. He enjoyed working and helping others. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, IL.
Gene is survived by: Wife of 20 years- Nancy Huber of Willow Hill, IL...9 Children - Sheryl (Charlie) Roberts of Holden, ME, Jon Brent (Kelly) Huber of Hidalgo, IL, Jamee (Anna) Huber of Oblong, IL, Steven (Johanna) Fleckenstein of Big Spring, TX, John (Beth) Fleckenstein of Bozer City, LA, Lisa Fleckenstein of Austin, TX, Carol Fleckenstein of Clarksville, TN, Janet Hudson of Clarksville, TN and Rita Fleckenstein of Ajo, AZ...3 Brothers - Gilbert Huber of Urbana, MO, Bob (Pat) Huber of Richland, NC and Jack (Betty) Huber of Yale, IL...1 Sister- Ethel (Ron) Dhom of Newton, IL...15 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill, Bud, David and Ray Huber; and sisters Betty Lou Butler, Faye Huber, Marge Wilson and Mardell Weiscope.
