Fred E. Staley, 89, of Newton died at 9:40pm Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 1, at 3pm at the Falmouth Church of Christ near Falmouth. Burial in Falmouth Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-3pm Sunday at the church. Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.
Fred was born on January 26, 1923 on the family farm near Falmouth, IL the son of George Benjamin and Belle (Stone) Staley. He married Marjorie Marie Lancaster on January 12, 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2006. Fred was a lifelong farmer and was longtime member of the Falmouth Church of Christ. He enjoyed woodworking and was very mechanically inclined. He loved to hunt and fish.
Fred is survived by: 2 Daughters – Joan (Ron) Mulvey of Newton, IL and Carole (Herb) Marshall of Willow Hill, IL...5 Grandchildren – Steve (Lisa) Mulvey of Auburn, IL, Brad (Linda) Mulvey of Newton, IL, Ronda (Edmund) Parker of Humboldt, IL, Sheryl (Larry) Brinson of Willow Hill, IL and Tim (Violet) Marshall of Newton, IL...13 Great Grandchildren...17 Great Great Grandchildren...1 Brother – George Staley of Newton, IL...1 Sister – Iva Heady of Newton, IL.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Randall Marshall, 6 sisters Daisy Boxley, Sylvia Kibler, Goldie Short, Marie Myers, Lois Yates and Bernadine Woodard and 3 brothers Hal, Merl and Bernard Staley.
