Roger D. Durbin, 63 of Altamont, passed away at 12:40am Saturday June 23rd, 2012 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Roger was born June 5, 1949 at Vandalia, IL the son of Charles Tossie and Edna Leila Endsley Durbin.  Roger served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Roger was a truck driver for Turner Trucking of Watson, IL for many years.

Surviving him are brothers and sisters: Charlene Smith of Effingham, IL, Nelda Everett and husband David of Effingham, John Durbin and wife Katie of Beecher City and Darrell Durbin and wife Donna of Effingham; many nieces, nephews, cousins and
special friends, Dean and Cindy Grupe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Marilyn June Durbin, Phyllis Marie Durbin, Joyce Gouchenouer, Janet Bailey and Leila “Blondie” Ordner, two nieces and two nephews.

A graveside service with military rites performed by V.F.W. Post # 4829 of Shelbyville will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday June 26, 2012 in Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fayette County. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Tuesday in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Beecher City.
