Ada May Seifers Wilson Stroup (85) of Effingham

 

Ada May Seifers Wilson Stroup, 85, of Effingham died on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at her home.

As per her wishes, Ada was cremated with private graveside services being held on March 18 in rural Newton at the Seifers-Wilson Cemetery, with her nephew Scott Wilson officiating.

Ada was born February 17,1940, the daughter of Gidion Seifers and Martha Pittman Seifers Carroll. She was a step-daughter to William J. Carroll. Ada married Ronald Stroup on February 14, 1974, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2017.

Ada graduated from Newton Community High School in 1958. She worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime.

Surviving are 10 siblings: Betty (Les) Roberts, Chester (Marty) Seifers, Carl (Joanne) Seifers, June (Everett) Conrad, Neil Seifers, baby Alec Seifers, Margaret (Richard) Mitchell, Nellie (Donnie) Wilson, Larry (Mary Lynn) Carroll and Robert Carroll...one stepson, Kevin P. Stroup and wife Tammy of Indianapolis, IN...a very special niece, Marsha Conrad of Effingham...and numerous other nieces and nephews in the surrounding area.

She was preceded in death by her parents...stepfather William Carroll...father in law and mother in law, William and Marie Stroup...brothers, Chester, Carl, Neil and Baby Alec; sisters Betty and June; brothers in law, Les Roberts, Everett Conrad, Richard Mitchell and Donnie Wilson...sister in law Marty Seifers...and three nephews, Randy Quick, Matthew Carroll and Kyle Wilson.
