Nicholas P. Nosbisch, 26, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 6 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services celebrating Nick’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 1, at the First Presbyterian Church in Effingham, with the Rev. Drew Holloway officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Nicholas was born  August 12, 1986, in Effingham, the son of Philip and Holly S. (Henderson) Nosbisch.  Nick was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Effingham. Nick was a warrior who was called to be with God. He did not lose a fight to cancer, God needed him by His side. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Nick was an outstanding athlete who inspired many.

Nick is survived by his father, Phil Nosbisch of Effingham; sisters, Nina (husband Lucas) Wenthe of St. Louis, Mo. and Amy Nosbisch of Effingham; nephew, Will Wenthe of St. Louis, Mo.; and grandmother, Isabel Henderson of Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Holly S. Nosbisch; grandparents, Martha and Richard Nosbisch and grandfather, Gene Henderson.
