Rosalie Kay (Yardy) Tucker, 72, of Effingham, IL, and formerly of Cowden, IL, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 3, 2025 at her home.

Rosalie was born on August 22, 1952, in Umri, Maharastra State, India, the daughter of the late Dr. Paul and Jessie (Fry) Yardy. She married Dennis Corwin Tucker on May 26, 1973 in Urbana. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2022. Rosalie moved with her family to Urbana in 1965. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1971. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Greenville College in 1975 and her Master’s Degree in Education at Eastern Illinois University in 1987. She taught in Pana Schools from 1976-2009. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Effingham. She enjoyed teaching children at Pana Schools. She loved spending time with her husband, four children and spouses, grandchildren and friends.

Rosalie is survived by her four children, Kimberly (Carlos) Ramos of Mesa, AZ; Eric (Nicole) Tucker of Cowden; Alan (Jamie) Tucker of Lakewood, and Kory (Brittany) Tucker of Effingham; mother, Jessie Yardy of Urbana; grandchildren, Alani Forbes, Akoni Forbes, Corwin Gabbert-Tucker; Natalie Tucker, Brooke Tucker, Kaden Tucker; Ava Tucker, Kase Tucker, Kyla Tucker; Brynlee Tucker, Kellan Tucker, and Kohen Tucker; two step-grandchildren, Carlos Jr. Ramos and Crystal Ramos; brothers, Rev. David (Sherrill) Yardy of Nicholasville, KY; twin brother, Robert (Donna) Yardy of Mohomet, IL; sisters, Sharon (James) Hicks of Oregon City, OR, Pauline Johnson of St. Paul , MN, and Yvonne (Bob) Gilchrist of Canon City, CO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; father, Dr. Paul Yardy; in-laws. Corwin and Mary Tucker; brothers-in-law, Tony Casurella, David Johnson, and Steve Tucker.

Funeral services celebrating Rosalie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in Cowden, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.
