Richard "Keith" Like (90) of Effingham

Richard “Keith” Like, 90, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Willowbrook Memory Support Residences in Effingham.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

Keith was born on August 21, 1934, at home in LaClede Township, IL, the son of Richard F. and Helen (Siegfried) Like. Keith was the vice-president of Kemper Insurance, which took him all over the country and overseas. He was an avid golfer, playing all over the world and even in the Kemper Open.

Keith is survived by his siblings, Lois Hout, Jim (Pat) Like, Carolyn (Tom) Hebron, Gerald (Karen) Like, Reta Swingler, and Larry Like.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Madeleine Alderson; sisters, Phyllis Stock and Joyce Heuerman; and brothers, John and Fr. Wayne Like.
