B. Lorene Spragg, 90 of Waxhaw, North Carolina, formerly of rural Mason died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Monroe, North Carolina.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Robert Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will follow at Mahon Cemetery, rural Mason. Memorials may be made to Mahon Cemetery.

Lorene was born on Tuesday, February 27, 1923 in Hammond, IL to Medford A. and P. Ellan (Moats) Neathery. She married George Frederick Spragg on April 10, 1955 at the Asbury Methodist Church in Gilmore. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2012. She had been a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. They were longtime residents of Effingham County. They moved to Waxhaw, North Carolina in September of 2001 to be closer to their family.

She is survived by her sons; Charles Frederick Spragg of Fort Lauderdale, FL,  and Kenneth Eugene Spragg and his wife Barbara of Waxhaw, NC, 3 Grandchildren; Alyssa Vazquez and husband Christopher of Charlotte, NC, Luke Spragg of Waxhaw, NC., and Julia Mooney and Husband Max of Lynwood, VA.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brothers; Harold Leonard Neathery, Simon Elber Neathery and two brothers in infancy, Paul and Oran, her sisters; Polly Elizabeth Ballinger and Lorene’s twin sister Betty Morene died in infancy.
