Delories M. Dorn age 89, of Newton passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, Illinois.

Graveside services for Delories will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Delories was born on August 28, 1934, in Kinmundy, Illinois the daughter of John and Lela (Barbee) Dyer. On February 8, 1958, Delories married Victor “Salty” Dorn. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1994. In addition to being a wife and mother, Delories worked as a cashier at the Newton IGA and then became the manager of Huck’s. Together with Salty, the couple managed the KC Hall in Newton. She later worked for Addus Home Health until her retirement. In her free time, Delories enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to go fishing and could make the best fried chicken. Known for her spunk, she loved keeping things “stirred-up” and could always be counted on for a few good stories.

Delories will be loved and remembered by her children Donald Dorn, wife Karen of Dieterich; Larry Dorn, wife Debbie of Newton and Bobbe Falconer, husband Jeff of Ste. Marie; daughters-in-law Judy Dorn of Effingham, Ann Dorn of Coal Valley, IL, and Donna Dorn of Newton; fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

 

Her parents, husband Victor and children Vera Hawkey, Victor Leon Dorn, Ed Dorn and Charles Dorn, granddaughters Jody Dorn and Lisa Dorn, grandson Blake Dorn, great grandson Waylon Duff, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
