Eleanor was born on September 12, 1944, to Leland and Eunice (Burton) Starwalt, in Cumberland County. She married Jack Eggers on March 16, 1973. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Jeanette Henderson.
She is survived by five brothers and five sisters: Gene (Beverly) Starwalt, Jesse (Marjorie) Starwalt, (Wayne Henderson), Claudette (Jim) Houser, Vivian Purcell, Harvey Starwalt, Brenda Starwalt, Darrell (Bonnie) Starwalt, Helen (John) Scott, Rhonda (David) Trost, and Jeffery (Sandy) Starwalt; 34 nieces and nephews, so many great nieces and nephews, and great-great also that she loved as her own. She was Godmother to Desiree Mestas and Daniel Starwalt.
She loved spending time with her big family at gatherings at Darrell’s Doghouse and John and Helen’s shop. She enjoyed her lunch dates with her high school friends and teachers. She was loved by all of us and her special friends, Terri Biggs, Patti Thornton, and Corinne Watters. We will miss her on our cruises, gambling trips, wine trips, and Saturday trips to eat tacos.
She graduated from Newton High School and Eastern Illinois University with a teaching degree. She taught school for seven years and then was a secretary for Grant’s Fertilizer in Toledo for 17 years. She was an avid fan of both the Chicago Cubs and the Indianapolis Colts.
