Judy Anne Griffith, age 75, of rural Newton, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM – Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the New Beginnings Church 8622 Illinois Route 130, Newton, Illinois, with Tom Matson officiating. The burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery east of Rose Hill, Illinois. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM – Friday, August 2, 2024, at the church. In loving memory of Judy memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund (In memory of Gary Griffith) or to the Family Life Center. Judy was born on June 15, 1949, in Tuscola, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred E. and Elizabeth Anne (Mavity) Waggle. She graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1967. Following high school, she was united in marriage to Carl Griffith on October 27, 1968, at Plainfield Church east of Rose Hill, Illinois. Judy was a licensed practical nurse for many years and later worked at Edward Jones in Newton as a receptionist. She was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Newton. Judy enjoyed flowers, collecting antiques, traveling, and making memories with her family, especially on Memorial Day at the annual family gathering. She gave of her time by delivering Meals on Wheels for several years. Her family was the shining star in her life, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a sister. Judy was known to make the best home-made rolls around.

Judy is survived by her loving family: Husband of 55 years – Carl Griffith; Children – Julie (Tom) Matson, Jeanne (Chris) Foster, Jason (Amanda) Griffith, and Justin (Christine) Griffith; Daughter-in-law – Anita Griffith; Grandchildren – Nick, Alan, Meredith, Tennille, Cynthia, Claire, Mason, Veronica, Ethan, Eli, Lily, Easton, and Jax; Great Grandchildren – Emma, Landon, Lily, Aleeah, Makenna, and Ryker; Siblings – Carl (Debbie) Waggle, John (Greta) Waggle, Connie Ginder, Cheryl (Harry) Ulrich, and Terri (Steve) Brummer.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, son Gary Griffith on March 29, 2024, and a brother Larry Waggle.
