Joyce M. Fearheiley, 86, of Decatur, IL. passed away at 1:06 pm on Sunday July 28, 2024, at the Vonderlieth Living Cener in Mt. Pulaski, IL.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in theToledo Cemetery. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo is assisting the family.
Joyce was born on August 12, 1937, to Ed and E’Lois (Markwell) Lashmet. After attending St. Mary’s College, she married Richard Fearheiley on March 15, 1958. They had three children: Michael (Daisy Fearheiley), Douglas (Melanie Ishmael), Joni Fearheiley, five grandchildren: Gaelle Fearheiley, Benjamin Toney(Christy), Angela Fearheiley(Ryan), Jessica Toney, and Kane Allen Ishmael Fearheiley and one great grandchild: Everley.
Joyce dedicated 30 years of her career as a teacher’s aide in the Decatur School District, where she made a significant impact working with children with special needs. Her unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment was evident throughout her tenure. Outside of her professional life, Joyce was passionate about golf, regularly hitting the greens and enjoying the sport. She also had a deep love for playing contact bridge, finding both challenge and joy in the game.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and brother, David Lashmet.
