Joyce M. Heuerman (85) of Effingham

Joyce M. Heuerman, 85, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Entombment will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 prior to the service at the funeral home. Joyce was born on August 14, 1938, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Fred and Beulah (Kingery) Petty. She married Floyd Heuerman on March 30, 1957 and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2007. Joyce worked for Martin’s IGA for over 30 years. She was a charter member of Willow Street Church of Christ (now Cornerstone Church). She was a Christian woman who raised her family in church and was a member of the Ladies Home Extension. She enjoyed taking walks, doing her yardwork, embroidery, sewing, and dressmaking. Joyce loved butterflies and watching the Hallmark Channel, especially When Calls the Heart. She always looked forward to her yearly trips to Branson. Most of all, her family and grandkids were her world.

Joyce is survived by her children, Doug (Pam) Heuerman, Gregory (Lu Ann) Heuerman, Cheryl (Scott) Grewell, and Beth (Doug) Sanders; grandchildren, Dustin (Tony) Heuerman, Derek Heuerman, Kelsey (J.R.) Evans, Lauren Heuerman, Jarrett (Abby) Grewell, Jeremy (Kelley) Grewell, Meghan Longwell, Alec Longwell, Paige (Jordan) Boldig, and Baileigh Longwell; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, Christine Foran and Becky Capezzuto; and nephew, Kenny Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Heuerman; and sister, Sharon Habing.
