Harold G. Campe, 82 of Altamont, died at 3:35 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Altamont. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Care Center, Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Donor’s Choice.

Harold was born on January 10, 1931 in Avena Township, rural Fayette County to Edward and Edna (Koss) Campe. He married Norma Jean Hubrich on June 27, 1954 at St. Paul ‘Blue Point’ Lutheran Church, rural Altamont. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he had served in several capacities over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean of Altamont, son, Kevin and his wife Kim Campe of Troy, daughter, Marsha Silvey and her husband Craig of Sedalia, Missouri, brother, Eldon Campe of Altamont, sisters; Esther Magnus and her husband Lavern of St. Peter, Lorene Schroeder of Altamont, Alice Jones and her husband Vernie of Bethany, Belva Schaefer of St. Peter, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, one great grandchild and four step great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jr. Campe (in infancy) and Delbert Campe, brothers-in-law; Elvin Schroeder, John Calhoun, and Lloyd Schaefer, and sister-in-law, Myrna Campe.
