Jerry “Chief” Kline, age 70, of Farina, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Carle Hospital in Champaign, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Edgewood Full Gospel Church in Edgewood, Illinois. Mariah Logan will be officiating. There will be a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Farina Cemetery. Memorials may go to Edgewood Full Gospel Church “BIG Group” Student Ministries or the donor’s choice. Jerry was born on November 16, 1951 in Farina, the son of Harold and Anita (Wodtke) Kline. He married Vicky McCarty on April 7, 1972. They just celebrated 50 years of marriage in April. He worked at Kline’s gas station, owned, and operated Kline’s Truck Stop, worked at NAPA, Blomberg’s Builders, Courson Drilling, and devoted 33 years as the Manager at Farina Farms. He loved his family, putting 500–1000- piece puzzles together, making his infamous salted caramel brownies, woodworking, and welcoming children to BIG Group on Wednesday nights. He was a church deacon and faithful member at Edgewood Full Gospel Church. He loved His Lord and worship time.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Kline of Farina; children, Amy Geiler (husband Brent) of Kinmundy, Susan Logan (husband Brad) of Edgewood, Jeriann Peter (husband Mark) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Caleb Kline (wife Krissie Moeller) of Cunningham, Kentucky, Joey Kline of Washington, Indiana, and Kerry Kline of Effingham; brothers, Larry Pemberton (wife Mary) of Farina, Carroll Kline (wife Sherry) of Farina; sisters, Pat Sargent of Dix, Debbie Hawkey (husband Robert) of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Trenton and Jordan Geiler, Mariah Logan, Mallory Bailey (husband Mason), Jakob Logan (wife Beth Billingsley), Alexandria and Andrew Peter, and Joshua, Derek, and Katie Kline; great-grandchildren, Posie and Price Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Ethel Kline, and daughter, Cinnamon; sister, Kaye Hinkle; brothers-in-law, Dave Sargent and Jerry Hinkle.
